How to Wear a Red Bikini

Deciding to rock a bikini is one thing; choosing red takes it to a whole other level. No matter what your age, size or shape,  when you wear a red bikini it’s all about body confidence.

1.Choose the right suit for your body type.

Okay, the Republic of Confident Women supports your right to flaunt a red bikini, whether you’re thick, thin or somewhere in between. That being said, you’ll want to make sure that any shy bits have the coverage they need. If you’re busty, buy a suit with an underwire to keep the sisters where they belong. If your junk is packed in the trunk, you’ll want a full-coverage bottom. If you’ve got a mom-ab situation, consider a skirted bottom with a sassy top. If your figure is boyish or naturally thin or if you’ve been living in the gym, go ahead and work that string bikini.

2.Make sure the shade of red suits your skin tone.

Red can really run the gamut from pinky corals to blue-reds. The easiest way to tell if it’s your color is to hold the suit up to your face. If your face appears pale or sallow or you look like you spent last night hugging porcelain, the shade’s not right for you. If your skin glows, your eye color pops and your hair seems vivid, congratulations, you’ve found the one.

3.Accessorize for maximum confidence.

Feeling fierce alone in a dressing room or in the comfort of your own home can be a lot different from the moment you enter poolside or walk past the lifeguard stand. For that “I know the paparazzi are stalking me, but I’m so over it” strut, add dark sunglasses, a knotted sarong skirt and metallic flats. If you want to seem sporty and carefree, try white shorts and white flip-flops. If you’re not swimming and just want to be the scenery at the poolside bar, add a floppy hat, jeweled sandals and a few strands of wood or metal beads around your wrist or neck.
